Swisscontact is a non-profit non-governmental organization. It was founded in 1959 by the leading Swiss businessmen and universities. Under mandates of the Swiss Federal Government, federal governments of partner countries, and international organizations (World Bank, Asian Development Bank, etc.), the Foundation provides technical assistance in 25 Asian, Latin American and East European countries.

Technical assistance is among the ways of interstate cooperation.
Òechnical Assistance — includes various activity funded and implemented by organizations (international and national, private and federal) or individual experts aimed at the development of target groups. This activity is carried out at different levels with the possibility of cooperation with local structures.
